Why You Should Pay Attention to Enrique Peña Nieto

Enrique Peña Nieto is adored for his movie star looks, earning him the nickname of “a male Barbie” or the “Beckham of the PRI party”. It is safe to say that prevailing opinion holds him the top contender among the candidates. The others participating in the polls are thus more than a little concerned about his presence.

Although the formal campaigning has yet to begin, Nieto seems to already be on the up and up with the voting population. Nieto's talents at addressing the people are well-known, and they have served him well for some time now. It has been remarked that the man even requires double the usual amount of time to pass through a group of persons because people keep trying to hold on to him.

Enrique Pena Nieto's immense popularity is blamed on his alleged deal with Televisa, Mexico's most powerful television network. He reportedly paid the mass media giant large sums of money over the last five years to advertise the accomplishments of his previous administration in the state of Mexico. This, they say, is why Televisa always seems to be in support of Nieto's work.

It is worth noting that people only began talking about this supposed deal following Nieto's admission of a relationship with Ms. Rivera of Televisa. Rivera is famous in her own right, perhaps even more popular than Nieto in a sense, given how many times her face has shown up in various soap operas with a cult following. He was married to Rivera three years after the death of his first wife, Monica Pretelini.

Pena Nieto and Pretelini had three children, namely Paulina, Alejandro and Nicole. On the second year of his governorship of the state of Mexico, his wife Pretelini died due to a seizure-induced arrhythmia and respiratory arrest. Ladies became more interested in Nieto after that, seeking to become the next Mrs. Nieto.

This popularity with the ladies makes up only a portion of his repute. He has also gained attention for having gone around his former area of authority to find out what the locals needed and for working hard to resolve the demands. Infrastructure was just one of the chief notes in his campaign.

Nieto is known for having held large parties or gatherings during inaugural dates of the resulting public works. It is little wonder that Nieto's repute is that of a person who can stay true to his word. Detractors do say, though, that the lavish inaugurations for his public works were even more expensive than the actual public works.

His critics managed to get other fodder for their remarks about him when he made a few gaffes at the Guadalajara Book Fair. It was discovered during the fair that Nieto was not capable of remembering the names of the people who had written some of his "top" books to read. Nieto's reason was that he preferred to expend more time remembering the body of the book instead of what was on its cover.

Unfortunately, quite a number of persons ridiculed him for it. The issue was further ignited when his eldest daughter, Paulina, labeled her father's critics as a bunch of morons who only criticize him because they envy his position. Despite Nieto's attempt to admit to his own errors and to that of his child in her "undiplomatic" retort, the detractors have not paused in their criticism of him.

Enrique Peña Nieto has noted that his opponents tend to take his words out of context. Still, he has the strongest presidential bid to date. His is the strongest bid due to the voting population's fondness of him.
